summer in a salad

this salad was so satisfying due to it’s mix of interesting flavors and textures. there was smoked deer tenderloin, tangy danish blue cheese, fatty sunflower seeds and crispy radishes, cucumber and yellow bell pepper on top of romaine lettuce. that with the addition of my favorite convenience product since i was probably 8 years old: a mustard vinaigrette from the supermarket shelves of la France.

red light / green hotdogs

i’ll start by excusing the incredibly bad pictures of these otherwise quite ok hotdogs. you see, my boyfriend surprised me by taking me to lunch at the national hotdog day a month or so ago. desperately wanting to eternalize our hotdog lunch i had to take advantage of modern technology, in this case an iphone hence, the bad pictures. but enough about that!

the national hotdog day is an annual charity event where all profits go directly to the organisation familier med kræftramte børn (families with cancer-hit children). sure, i’ll have a couple of hotdogs to support such a good case.

we had two kinds. i started out with a hotdog with guacamole, tomato salsa and a red onion marmelade (the boyfriend being the boring one). i thought it lacked some salt, acidity and maybe some crispyness as well but it was surely an interesting experience. then we had green hotdogs. they’re like regular ones but instead of dying the sausage the classic color of red, the sausage was green. no taste difference but fun to try. i’d prefer the organic ones you get at DØP by Rundetårn any day though.

chocolate oblivion cookies (with a twist)

.

sometimes a girl just gotta have her chocolate. the last time the chocolate monster inside of me showed its face i turned to these cookies. that turned out to be a good decision. in addition to the original recipe i added a bit of coffee extract which i brought back from turkey. the chocolate taste is incredibly rich (so make sure to use good quality dark chocolate!) and it matched the taste of coffee perfectly. all in all, they were incredibly satisfying and highly recommendable.
